I live and work in South Cheshire, near the towns of Crewe, Nantwich and Sandbach. I use rooms in a large house, which is easy to get to. I consider myself a fellow traveller, on my own quest to answer life’s questions. My learning, experience and training will be what I can offer to you.
I have over 30 years experience as a Social Worker, Bereavement Counsellor and more recently as a Therapist in Private Practice. I have delivered training in Grief and Loss, Anxiety Management, Emotional Resilience and the transitions associated with the Menopause.
Please see my About Me page for more information about my skills and employment history.
I am registered with Social Work England and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am also a member of the British Association of Social Workers (BASW) and the Gestalt Psychotherapy Training Institute (GPTI).
I am a qualified Equine Facilitated Psychotherapist trained by LEAP. My Links page gives details of where you can find the relevant codes of ethics and professional standards which I adhere to.

For my counselling practice, I use rooms at No. 156 Nantwich Road, Crewe, CW2 6BG. The building is owned by Survive Abuse Counselling and East Cheshire Council. There is a reception, waiting area and toilet facilities.
This can be reached by public transport; it is a 5 minute walk from Crewe Railway Station.
I have daytime and an evening appointments for counselling sessions. I offer room based, online and telephone sessions and nature- based, outdoor interventions with a therapy herd of horses.
Counselling lasts generally 55 minutes for room-based sessions, 60 minutes for telephone and online and 60 to 90 minutes for an Equine Therapy individual session. The number of sessions is reviewed and discussed between us, although I may recommend a minimum number of sessions.
Equine workshops and events can range from half a day (3 hours) to a full day (5 hours) and bespoke tailored programmes can be arranged (over 1 or 2 days) and over a weekend.
I have a contract which states the limits of confidentiality and the terms of us working together.
The first session is free, as it's a chance for us to see whether we can work together and whether I'm the appropriate therapist for you at this time.

I am a specialist in bereavement, anxiety and concerns about identity. I have years of experience working with loss, bereavement and change. I understand the impact of unexpected change and multiple loss on confidence and resilience. This can be made worse if you have experienced childhood trauma and other sources of stress, especially if social support is not readily available.
I am interested in the influence of anxiety on the nervous system and new developments in neuroscience. I am an experienced group facilitator and bring my therapeutic skills to my role as a trainer.
I am a Social Work Practice Educator and qualified clinical supervisor. I have supervised and supported staff members from local charities both individually and as a group facilitator. I supervise trainee therapists and social care staff.
I have co-facilitated equine therapy sessions with 3 other professionals. I have also taught at Staffordshire University and delivered training to local charities and mental health agencies.
